چکیده
Abstract White birch (Betula platyphylla Sukaczev) and costata Trautv.) are valuable hardwood tree species growing in northeast China. Several taper studies have analysed the countries harbouring boreal forests. However, this study presents an initial attempt to develop stem models using fixed- mixed-effects modelling for white Xiaoxing’an Mountains, Ten commonly used were evaluated by 228 destructively sampled trees of both comprising 4582 diameter height measurements. The performance these was tested predicting at any height, total volume merchantable (10 20 cm top diameters). We incorporated a second-order continuous-time error structure adjust inherent autocorrelation data. segmented model Clark best predicted or when upper 5.3 m available. When measurements not available, Kozak Max Burkhart superior other birch, respectively. After comparison, refitted as NLME model.

متن کاملThe birch field.
The field is huge, roughly the size of 300 football pitches. Despite its size, it is entirely surrounded by a fence. The fence is only interrupted at one place, by an imposing brick gatehouse with an arch. Somewhat incongruously, a railway line runs under the arch. The railway continues some way into the field, and then comes to an end in a siding. There are dozens of large huts, or block house...
متن کاملEffects of carbon dioxide concentration and nutrition on photosynthetic functions of white birch seedlings.
To investigate the interactive effects of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration ([CO(2)]) and nutrition on photosynthesis and its acclimation to elevated [CO(2)], a two-way factorial experiment was carried out with two nutritional regimes (high- and low-nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K)) and two CO(2) concentrations (360 and 720 ppm) with white birch seedlings (Betula papyrifera...
متن کاملKinetics of the Birch Reduction
Because of contradictions in the literature, we reinvestigated the kinetics of the Birch reduction, i.e. the hydrogenation of benzene and its derivatives in metal ammonia solutions (MAS; containing solvated electrons e and metal cations M) with alcohols to yield the corresponding cyclohexa-1,4-dien compounds (e.g. 2Li+ 2CH3OH+C6H6)2CH3OLi+C6H8). The kinetics of this reaction are obscured since ...
